Our customer’s freight demands the best equipment on the road.  The only way we can deliver on time, all the time is to make sure our drivers are outfitted with the best tools on the road to do their job safe and as efficient as possible. That means constantly reinvesting in our fleet and utilizing the latest in fleet technology.

Since 2009, V&S Midwest has been a member of the EPA’s Smartway Transport Partnership, while maintaining the agencies highest rating since our inception.  In 2013 V&S Midwest Carriers became recognized as one of the most fuel efficient fleets in the country per the Environmental Protection Agency.  Smartway Transport is a partnership in which carriers and shippers commit to benchmark operations, track fuel consumption and improve performance annually.

An essential tool in creating operating efficiencies, we have been utilizing Peoplenet Fleet Tracking for years.  With this technology we have increased utilization, improved m.p.g., truck routing and improved safety by gaining pushing essential data into our reporting database.

Our fleet of Freightliner, International, Kenworth and Volvo tractors consistently average less than 2.25 years of experience on the road before they are replaced with new equipment.  V&S Midwest Carriers works with our equipment manufacturers to spec the most driver friendly, fuel efficient, Environmental Protection Agency Smartway Certified, tractors for our application.

Some of the options included in our new equipment…

  • LED headlights or highest rated lights offered by OEM
  • Automatic in cab 5th wheel pin release

Our fleet of 53′ AIR RIDE Wabash, Great Dane and Utility dry and space saving reefer trailers are typically an average of 4 years old and meticulously maintained.  Our fleet of trailers are equipped with Trailer Skirts as well as ATDynamics Trailer Tails to aid us in our mission of becoming one of the most efficient fleets in the country.
